Mayor McBrayer to host ‘Coffee with the Mayor’ Thursday for all districts - KCBD

The gathering is part of a monthly series planned for 2026, giving residents a chance to talk one-on-one with McBrayer and their district's city council representative. Anyone in Lubbock can show up, no matter which part of town they call home, from the Depot District to neighborhoods way out past South Plains Mall.

Unlike a formal council meeting, this setup lets neighbors bring up whatever is actually bothering them, whether that's a pothole on their street or a bigger policy fight. City hall business often moves through public comment periods and packed agendas. This event strips that down to a conversation over coffee, no scheduled meeting slot required.

It costs nothing to attend, and McBrayer and the council are committing to doing this every month all year. That's twelve chances in 2026 for Lubbock residents to walk up and talk policy face to face, no agenda item required.
