City invites Parkway and Cherry Point residents to final neighborhood planning meeting - KCBD

This is the last chance for residents to weigh in before the plan heads to City Council. The Neighborhood Planning Program grew out of the Lubbock 2040 Comprehensive Plan, and Parkway and Cherry Point are the latest neighborhoods to go through the process. At this meeting, the city will lay out its recommendations for the area and let residents respond directly before anything becomes official.

Once the plan leaves this meeting, it moves into the formal approval process. The window for hands-on neighborhood input closes then. Anyone with concerns about the recommendations, or ideas the plan might be missing, should show up now rather than after the vote.

City planning meetings do not usually draw a crowd, but this one carries more weight than most. It is the difference between shaping a neighborhood plan and reacting to one after it is already locked in.
