No. 5 Tech continues fall season at OFCC/Fighting Illini Invite - Texas Tech Red Raiders

The Red Raiders will play the South Course at Olympia Fields Country Club, a par-70 layout, using a 5-count-4 format where the team's best four scores count each round. Tech's lineup features Tim Wiedemeyer, Connor Graham, Adam Bresnu, Ben Gregg and Simon Hovdal teeing it up across all three days.

This is not a small-field tune-up. Fifteen teams are in the mix, including No. 1 Florida, No. 3 Oklahoma State, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 9 LSU and No. 12 host Illinois. Texas A&M, Alabama, Stanford, Pepperdine and Georgia Tech round out a field packed with ranked programs, meaning every shot at Olympia Fields carries weight for Tech's national standing.

For golf fans around Lubbock, this is a chance to see how that No. 5 ranking holds up against some of the toughest competition college golf has to offer this fall. Beating out Florida and Oklahoma State would send a real message heading into the rest of the season, but a rough weekend could dent the ranking before Tech even makes it home to Texas.
