NWS Meteorologist Bryan Ramsey said New Yorkers should expect light rain Monday before the city clears out for the rest of the week. The storm system that dumped rain and wind over the weekend has weakened significantly, according to Ramsey, though it hasn't fully cleared the area yet.
"We have the system still lingering in the area," Ramsey said. "It is far weaker than it was before, but you'll continue to see drizzle to light rain chances continue into the day."
Ramsey said any remaining flooding would likely hit a handful of coastal spots, with the worst of it expected between Monday morning and afternoon. Those areas could see some flood benchmarks reached, he said, but nothing close to the storm's earlier intensity.
For New Yorkers still drying out from the weekend, the message is simple. Hang on through one more damp Monday. The rain tapers off after that, and the forecast points toward a clear stretch through the week.
