Plainview man sentenced to 30 years for recording sexual abuse of teen - Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

Torres pleaded guilty in April to one count of production of child pornography. The case carried a sentencing range of 15 to 30 years, and the judge handed down the maximum. The investigation began Nov. 27, 2025, when a woman Torres had been dating went to the Plainview Police Department to report inappropriate images she found on a memory card.

That tip triggered an FBI investigation that surfaced the 2017 recording. Torres was already a registered sex offender at the time of the crime, meaning the system had flagged him before this abuse ever took place.
