Lubbock is home to newest veterans cemetery in Texas - stripes.com
Lubbock is now home to the West Texas State Veterans Cemetery, the newest state-run veterans burial ground in Texas, opening Friday to serve more than 21,000 veterans and eligible family members living within 75 miles of the city. The cemetery is the fifth opened by the state of Texas, which counts 1.4 million veterans among its residents, one of the largest veteran populations in the country.
