  • Museum of Texas Tech University

    Art, history and natural science galleries on the Texas Tech campus.

  • Buddy Holly Center

    City museum about Buddy Holly in the old railroad depot. The Fine Arts Gallery is free. The main museum is $10 for adults, with lower prices for seniors, kids and college students.

What museums in Lubbock are free?

The Museum of Texas Tech University is free every day it is open. So are the National Ranching Heritage Center and the Lubbock Lake Landmark, both part of Texas Tech. The LHUCA galleries downtown are always free, and the Buddy Holly Center’s Fine Arts Gallery is free, while its main museum charges admission.

When is the First Friday Art Trail?

The First Friday Art Trail runs from 6 to 9pm on the first Friday of every month, rain or shine. LHUCA describes it as a free, self-guided public art event. In October 2026 that is Friday, Oct. 2. LHUCA had not posted its October map when we checked, so look for it on lhuca.org.
