Frenship to honor 9/11, part of nationwide ceremonies

Frenship High School in Wolfforth will host "100 Flags: A National WoodmenLife 9/11 Tribute" on Friday, September 11, honoring those lost on 9/11 along with military members and first responders. The ceremony centers on a massive 60-by-30-foot U.S.

The ceremony centers on a massive 60-by-30-foot U.S. Flag, part of a nationwide effort organized by WoodmenLife. Wolfforth sits just southwest of Lubbock, and Frenship's campus draws families from across the district for events like this one every year.

The tribute gives students, veterans, and first responders a shared place to mark the anniversary instead of just watching it on national coverage. It turns a date usually observed from a distance into something they can walk into and stand inside.

That flag alone stretches nearly the length of two school buses parked end to end.
