Mack, who campaigns under the name Jenn Mack, sat down with TXKtoday's Stephen Parker while in town for an appearance on Zach Ratliff's podcast. She told Parker that Texans who stayed home during the primaries are sending a message both major parties refuse to hear. "They are exhausted. Disenfranchised," she said. "They're tired of the mommy and daddy fighting. They want solutions."
Mack is one of three candidates on the Nov. 3 general election ballot, running alongside Republican incumbent Greg Abbott. Her campaign leans hard into anti-establishment messaging, framing herself as an alternative for voters fed up with partisan gridlock in Austin.
For Texarkana voters, Mack's visit puts a write-in option in front of people who might otherwise see the race as a two-party lock. She's betting there's an untapped bloc of primary no-shows looking for someone outside the usual party lines.
Whether a write-in candidate can turn frustration into actual votes against a sitting governor is another question entirely, but Mack thinks Texarkana's podcast audience is exactly the crowd willing to find out.
