Texas data centers
Add a free "Is my county on the list?" checker to your website
A small free tool for newsrooms, chambers, city pages and neighborhood groups. A visitor types a Texas county or town and sees if the county is one of the 18 on the Attorney General's Sept. 24, 2026 data center investigation list. It stores nothing and tracks nothing.
Terms
Free to embed. Do not alter the result text or the caveats. Do not frame it inside ads. The county list and the tool text follow the hub's content license.
The link back to the hub is inside the widget, so it stays when someone copies only the frame. The line under it in the snippet is a courtesy that we ask for, and it is not required.

What it does
- A visitor types a Texas county or town. The widget says whether each county that matches is among the 18 counties the Attorney General named on Sept. 24, 2026.
- Towns are matched with U.S. Census Bureau data. A town near a county line can touch more than one county, and the widget shows each. If a name is not in the data, it says to try a county name.
- Every result carries the caveats: these are counties, not facilities; a county on the list is not a finding; a county not on the list is not an all-clear; and the date the list was announced and last checked.
- It never shows a facility name, a company name or a map pin.
Privacy
- Nothing typed leaves the browser. Matching runs in the page, against data that loaded with it. There is no request when someone types or presses enter.
- No cookies, local storage, session storage or fingerprinting.
- No analytics, ad, pixel or web-font requests from the widget.
- What someone types is never put in the address. The only options in the address are the language and, optionally, the color setting.
- The page is sent with a content policy that blocks all outside connections, and with a no-referrer policy.
Accessibility
What is built in: a real label on the box, full keyboard use, the answer in text (never color alone) and announced to screen readers, large touch targets, light and dark colors, and no motion.
Keeping it current
The widget is a live frame, so the list is always read from the hub. If the Attorney General names more counties, the hub adds a dated entry and every embed shows it with no change on your side. See the statewide map and the water and power table
