Data centers near you, anywhere
Your location stays in your browser and is rounded to about a mile. We never send it to our servers. To draw the map, your browser asks OpenStreetMap for pictures and asks us for the data centers in the area you are looking at. So both can tell roughly which area that is.
The interactive map shows the data centers that volunteers have mapped on OpenStreetMap.
Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors. Map tiles load from openstreetmap.org only for the area you are viewing.

How it works
- Type a ZIP code or city, or tap Near me
Near me asks your device first. Your exact location stays in your browser, rounded to about a mile. The page only asks us for the data centers in a wide area, never for where you are.
- See what is mapped near you
The list shows the closest mapped data centers, how far each is and which way, with the operator when someone tagged it.
- Check a point or add one
Every point links to its page on OpenStreetMap. If one is missing or wrong, you can fix it there.
In Texas: water and power, project by project
For Texas we look up each project one by one and list what the company or agency said in public about its water and power use, who said it and when.
Questions about data centers near you
Is there a data center near me?
Type your ZIP code or city into the map above, or tap Near me. You get the closest data centers that volunteers have mapped on OpenStreetMap. Many data centers are not marked on any public map, so no result is not proof that there are none.
Why does the map show no data centers near me?
Either none have been mapped near you, or the one near you is not on OpenStreetMap yet. Try a wider distance. If you know of one, you can add it on OpenStreetMap.
Does this show how much water or power a data center uses?
Not outside Texas. OpenStreetMap does not hold those numbers. For Texas projects we list what the company or agency said in public, who said it and when.
Does the map say whether a data center is open?
No. OpenStreetMap does not say whether a mapped data center is operating. We drop points that volunteers tagged as planned, closed or under construction.
About this data
Outside Texas, every point comes from OpenStreetMap, the free map that volunteers edit, with a name or operator only when someone tagged one. Mapping is uneven: some places are barely mapped, so a place with no points is not proof that there are no data centers, and a high count does not mean many. We have no water or power numbers for these points. The credit line is © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License.
