Parks & Outdoor Fun
Mackenzie Park is the go-to for weekend mornings — playgrounds, the Joyland amusement park, and Prairie Dog Town. Clapp Park on the south side has one of the best splash pads in the city and fills up fast on summer mornings.
Museums Worth Your Time
The Science Spectrum on 50th Street is the best rainy-day option — interactive exhibits, a planetarium, and an IMAX theater. The Natural History Museum at Texas Tech is free on weekdays. Both are well-maintained and genuinely engaging for school-age kids.
