The exam tests whether students mastered the content from their Sport Management courses and can apply it to real-world situations. The portfolio documents the learning and work from a student's internship, and graders score it on seven components.

Those components start with a description of the internship organization and the sub-unit where the student worked. Students also lay out their responsibilities, their leadership and management opportunities, and their contributions. They then tie the internship to ideas and practices from at least four SPMT courses, including SPMT 5320, SPMT 5324, and two or more electives. The last three pieces cover personal and professional growth, challenges, and recommendations.

For students in the program, the paperwork has a clear order. Meet with your academic advisor in your first semester to plan an evaluation that fits your academic and professional goals. In your last semester, complete the Comprehensive Exam Registration Form and submit it to Donna Torres by the Graduate School deadline. The advisor schedules the evaluation.
