Workforce Solutions South Plains will host its annual South Plains Career Youth Expo from 8 a.m.
The expo is a come-and-go event. Students can walk up and talk with employers and representatives from a variety of industries. They can also explore career paths and learn what opportunities exist after graduation.
Dr. Ben Alexander, CEO of Workforce Solutions South Plains, said the goal is discovery. "Events like the Career Youth Expo give students an opportunity to learn about careers and industries they may not have encountered before," he said. "We want students to have the chance to ask questions, make connections, and discover opportunities they can begin working toward now and in the future."
Workforce Solutions South Plains serves employers and job seekers across a 15-county region. Its local workforce centers offer career, business and childcare services.
For a junior or senior who has no idea what comes next, this puts a lot of industries in one place on one morning. Students can register online through a form on the Workforce Solutions South Plains site. Questions go through the organization's contact page.
