Cold, rainy conditions from the remnants of Hurricane Rachel hung over the day, but the No. 2 Red Raiders still finished their Pool C opener against No. 15 Houston. Simon Hovdal beat Chi Chun 2&1. Adam Bresnu rolled past Jayk Altic 5&4, Ben Gregg edged Sacha Ruiz 1-UP, and Price Hill beat Grant Doggett 3&1. Houston's Sebastian Gamboa took the Cougars' lone point from Tim Wiedemeyer, 2&1.

Against No. 10 Kansas State, Bresnu won again, 2&1, before the horn stopped play. Alvaro Pastor's match is tied with two holes left. Gregg trails by one hole with one to play, and Hovdal is down two with two left.

Nothing is settled in Pool C. The second-round matches resume Tuesday at 7:45 a.m. MT. Third-round pool play is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. MT, just 45 minutes later, with Texas Tech facing No. 7 Colorado in its final Pool C match. Start times will shift based on when the second round finishes.

Wiedemeyer, who lost his opener to Gamboa, now leads his Kansas State match by one hole with two to play.
