The flyover features two Chinook helicopters, a medevac Blackhawk and an assault Blackhawk from the 36th Combat Aviation Brigade. Major Chad Dieter graduated in 2010, Major Jessie Guajardo in 2011, Major James Stetzer in 2012 and 1st Lt. Jeremy Wilkey in 2023.

Robert Giovannetti, Texas Tech's Senior Associate Athletics Director of External Operations, said the school's ties to the military branches are on display each home Saturday. "We can't thank our military partners enough for the coordination involved in making each flyover happen," he said. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m.

The crew rehearses Friday at 2:30 p.m., descending on Galaxy Stadium before heading to UMC Children's Hospital for a flyover for pediatric patients. The crew returns to the hospital Saturday morning, dressed and ready for the game flyover, and hands out the same rally towels fans will get inside the stadium. Patients can try on helmets too.

The kids at UMC Children's Hospital get the show a full day before 60,000 fans do.
