Tampa Bay gets home field advantage in the seven-game series because the Rays finished 98-64, the better record of the two teams. The winner takes the pennant and faces the NLCS winner, either the Los Angeles Dodgers or the Milwaukee Brewers.
TBS and truTV carry the games. Fans without cable can stream them on DirecTV, Fubo, Sling or Hulu + Live TV, and HBO Max also offers a livestream.
Costs differ by service. DirecTV, which carries TBS and truTV along with more than 90 other channels, offers a five-day free trial. After that, its entry-level Entertainment package costs $59.99 for the first month and $89.99 a month afterward. Sling's Blue plan runs $54.99 a month for more than 40 channels, which makes it one of the cheaper options for new live TV subscribers.
Celebrities often turn up at MLB games, too. Rays fans John Cena and Dick Vitale have appeared at games before, and so have Guardians fans Travis Kelce, Tom Hanks, Drew Carey, The Miz, Kid Cudi and mgk.
