Paul T. Taylor, the actor who played Pinhead in Hellraiser: Judgment, is a special guest at the South Plains Collectors Con at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center on Halloween weekend.
The two-day convention runs Saturday, October 31, from 10 a.m. To 6 p.m., and Sunday, November 1, from noon to 6 p.m. It describes itself as a "fun-filled Comic Con and TCG Card Show."
Judgment is the tenth installment of the Hellraiser franchise. Taylor is not the original Pinhead, since Doug Bradley played that role, but the character remains one of horror's most recognizable.
The show leans heavily into trading card games. The lineup includes tournaments, vendors, gaming areas, trading spaces, cosplay, collectibles, comic books and special guests. Halloween weekend is a natural time to show up as a favorite character.
For folks in Lubbock, that gives the holiday a second option besides trick-or-treating. Card players get tournaments, comic fans get vendors to dig through, and anyone with a costume gets a reason to wear it.
Pinhead and the Pokémon share one building on Halloween, so if a stranger hands you a mysterious puzzle box, leave it alone.
