South Plains Mall in Lubbock is building Premiere PLUS, a 45,000-square-foot family entertainment center with 16 bowling lanes, bumper-car arenas and more than 100 arcade games.
Construction is underway now. The mall's latest media release puts the finish line at summer 2027. Premiere PLUS comes in collaboration with Premiere Cinemas and will stretch the theater's footprint at the mall to more than 110,000 square feet.
This is not just a few arcade machines and a lounge. Party and event rooms will host birthdays and corporate events. Kids get a 2,000-square-foot play area, and a prize center lets them redeem rewards. Hungry? Two new cafes, a pizza pub, and a burger and soda fountain are coming too.
Premiere Cinemas already runs 16 screens at the mall with laser projection, so the movie side stays put while the rest grows around it.
The project also promises a "7-D cinema experience," which is a lot of dimensions, and nobody has said yet what that means.
