Among the 23 listings in our directory whose names say BBQ, barbecue, brisket, smoked or pit, the list below shows up to eight with the highest Google ratings that have at least 50 reviews. Chains our directory flags are left out. The order weighs review counts, and nobody pays to be on it.

How is this list made?
We start with restaurant and coffee-shop listings whose names include BBQ, barbecue, brisket, smoked or pit, drop the national chains our directory flags, and keep places with at least 50 Google reviews. Ratings and review counts are Google’s, copied into our directory, and can lag what Google shows today. Nothing paid changes the order.
How should I read a Google rating?
A rating means more with more reviews behind it. A high rating from a few dozen reviews and a slightly lower one from over a thousand are different amounts of evidence, which is why the order weighs review counts. Ratings measure what reviewers liked, not which style of BBQ suits you. Use them for a short list.
What does this list leave out?
The list only finds places with those words in their name, so a BBQ spot named for its owner or its street will not appear. How do I pick a place to try?
Open two or three listings and compare what is there: hours, phone, website and photos. Then check the pit’s own page or social account for today’s menu and hours. Sources, and what we left out
Where the numbers come from
This page uses no official-source facts. Every count, rating and review number comes from the 806 Connect directory when the page loads, and the notes above say how the list is built.
What we left out, and why
- Claims about smoke wood, cooking style or which pit has the best brisket. We have no source we can check, so we make none.
- Menus, prices and hours. They change too often for a directory page, and each place has its own listing.
- Awards and rankings from magazines or blogs. We did not use them.
- The text of reviews. We show ratings and review counts only.
Google ratings and review counts are copied into our directory and can lag what Google shows today. The list finds names, not menus. Nobody pays to be on it, and paid listing tiers do not change the order.
