Gym Culture at 6609 Milwaukee Ave. Is hosting a free family event called 806Fest from 9 a.m.
The event celebrates Lubbock's locally owned businesses, fitness and wellness, and Gym Culture is inviting everyone to come. RUN LBK hosts a 1-mile family fun run, and a free Hip Hop + High Fitness group class is on the schedule too. Pull-up and plank contests come with prizes from Cutler Nutrition.
The first 100 people to visit the Barbell Athletic Apparel booth walk away with a free hoodie. Rain or shine, the event goes on, though weather may change some outdoor activities.
Kids get their own activities and a Lubbock Fire Rescue truck to look over. Adults can grab coffee or a bite from the food trucks, then shop local vendors and small businesses. Bring friends and family and spend only what you choose to.
The vendors handing out those giveaways also pay booth fees, and every dollar of those fees goes to a local charity.
