TASSP honors principals and assistant principals from 20 regions across Texas each year. Reese won the overall statewide award from among the finalists, based on her performance and leadership. Now she is in consideration for the National High School Assistant Principal of the Year award.
Reese has spent her entire educational career at Frenship. She started in 2003 as a classroom teacher and has held several roles in the district since.
She called the recognition humbling and said it still feels a little surreal. "To be recognized at the state level is something I never imagined," Reese said. She also made clear she did not get here alone, crediting the "pretty incredible people" who helped shape her into the educator and leader she is today.
The district congratulated her on the chance to represent Texas.
