The top of the ticket is crowded. Governor Abbott faces Democrat Gina Hinojosa and Libertarian Pat Dixon. Republican Dan Patrick wants to keep his seat as lieutenant governor, and Democrat Vikki Goodwin is running against him. Libertarian Anthony Cristo and Kevin McCormick of the Green Party are also on the ballot.

Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico are in a tight race for Texas' U.S. Senate seat, and Libertarian Ted Brown is on that ballot too. They want to replace U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, who lost the Republican primary to Paxton.

Closer to home, Texas' 19th Congressional District is getting a new voice in Washington. Republican Tom Sell and Democrat Kyle Rable are running to take over Jodey Arrington's seat on Capitol Hill. The next chance to cast a ballot after Friday is Election Day, Nov. 3.
