Dogs run in four divisions: wiener dogs, small dogs under 15 pounds, medium dogs from 15 to 30 pounds, and special needs dogs. A dog parade and a costume contest round out the show, with prizes for cutest dog, most unique dog, and best costume. Vendor booths and educational presentations fill in the rest of the afternoon.

Owners who want to enter the races, parade, or costume contest need current vaccination records. Race registration costs $20 for the first dog and $15 for each additional one, and owners pay in person that day. Forms are online at lions2t2.org, and the parade and costume contest are free.

Getting into the venue costs nothing. The Range also offers driving ranges, so bring your own clubs, plus outdoor games, food, and a full bar. Families can bring their dogs and make an afternoon of it. All proceeds go to Texas Lions Camp, Leader Dogs for the Blind, and World Services for the Blind.

Thirty-two clubs from Snyder to Plainview make up the district behind the cause.
