Zacharia is a mother of four and a graduate of Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. Her online resume lists work for a number of conservative organizations, including a seat on the advisory board of The White Rose Resistance, an anti-abortion group named for Christian students who challenged the Nazis. Most recently, she advised Trump Media & Technology Group on communications. That company operates Trump's Truth Social platform.
She also raised her profile on Fox News and other conservative-leaning talk shows, and she amplified right-wing conspiracy theories. Trump praised her "unblemished record of support" and called her "a devoted fan and member of MAGA!"
She steps in as Trump's popularity sits at record lows and Republicans scramble to limit midterm losses. The administration is also fighting the press corps in a legal battle. Last month, the White House restricted access for CNN, MS NOW and Politico, outlets Trump views as unfriendly. Since then, the Justice Department has opened an investigation into the five television networks that share pool video coverage of Trump.
Zacharia's own post about the job called it the "honor of a lifetime" and offered no hint of any of that.
