Osorio presents "The Sound of Burning" at 5:30 p.m. In the library's Formby Room. Hannah Hindley follows at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 22, presenting "Love and Other Fish." The run wraps up at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 19, with Betsy Quammen and "This Haunted Land."
The readings and author Q&As belong to the fall series for the Sowell Family Collection in Literature, Community & the Natural World. The series invites students, faculty, visiting scholars and the public to conduct research in the collection. It holds personal papers of some of the country's most prominent writers, on topics from kayaking and canoeing to butterfly migration, desert gardening and deer hunting in the Texas Hill Country.
All events are free and open to the public, whether or not you have any tie to Tech. Osorio's and Hindley's sessions also offer virtual attendance, which helps if you can't make the trip. The listing for Quammen's November reading includes no virtual option.
