Stars Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison are both questionable, so Minnesota wants more bodies at receiver. Jefferson was limited in practice all week with an ankle injury. Addison's hamstring kept him out of Wednesday's practice and limited him in other sessions.
Beckham only joined the team this week, and he lands with a familiar face. Coach Kevin O'Connell was the Los Angeles Rams' offensive coordinator in 2021, when Beckham caught 27 passes for 305 yards and five touchdowns in eight regular-season games. He added 21 catches for 288 yards in four postseason games during that Super Bowl championship run.
If Jefferson and Addison sit, Beckham gives the Vikings a veteran option in a receiver room that also includes Jauan Jennings.
The path here was bumpy. His homecoming with the New York Giants never took off. Though he made the 53-man roster, he played three games with no targets and no catches. His last real action came in 2024 with the Miami Dolphins, where he had nine receptions for 55 yards in nine games.
Beckham could go from zero targets with the Giants to playing for Minnesota in a matter of days.
