Confirmed damage hit Allendale, Screven and Burke counties. At 4:18 p.m., the National Weather Service confirmed a tornado 5 miles south of Appleton, moving north at 30 mph, between the Burtons Ferry Bridge and downtown Allendale.

News 12 drone video showed damage to at least four buildings on Story Mill Road in Burke County, about halfway between Hephzibah and Waynesboro. Two lost parts of their roofs. The storm took an entire side off a third and flattened a fourth. Trucks and trailers lay overturned. In Screven County, trees came down along a 200-yard path near Old Savannah Highway and Highway 21.

Officials reported no injuries in Burke County. Power lines fell along Highway 80 West.

The warnings kept coming into the evening. Aiken and Saluda counties sat under a tornado warning until 7:30 p.m. As a storm near Ridge Spring, or near Batesburg-Leesville, moved north at 25 mph. That was the second radar-indicated warning for the area in a couple of hours, after a confirmed tornado on the ground near New Holland. Screven County got its own second warning, which expired at 6:30.
