J'Koby Williams ran for a career-high 165 yards and two long touchdowns, even after he fumbled at the Sun Devils 2 on the opening possession. Three plays later, Ben Roberts returned an interception 24 yards for a touchdown, and Tech led for good. It was the fourth time in three games that a Red Raiders linebacker returned an interception for a score.

Tech scored on its last seven first-half drives, four touchdowns and three Stone Harrington field goals from 31, 42 and 37 yards. That built a 43-10 halftime lead, and 404 of the team's 502 total yards came by then. Will Hammond completed 18 of 26 passes for 232 yards, hit Coy Eakin for an 11-yard touchdown and added a 9-yard touchdown run. Kenny Johnson caught seven passes for 120 yards. Reed Harris caught his Big 12-leading eighth touchdown of the season for Arizona State (3-3, 1-2) on the first drive after halftime.

"We've been really slow starting and playing great in the second half," coach Joey McGuire said. Not this time.

Hammond started last year's game at Arizona State when Behren Morton was injured, and Tech lost 26-22. Since then, the Red Raiders have won a school-record eighth straight regular-season conference game, plus 12 straight at home.

That home streak is one short of a mark that has stood since 1942.
