The orchestra plays Gabriel Thibaudeau's score at 3:30 p.m. General admission costs $10, while WT students, faculty and staff get in free with a Buff Gold Card.

Members of The Arts at WT Subscription Series get preferred seating. They can also enjoy a cocktail buffet at 2:30 p.m.

The orchestra takes the show to Dalhart on Saturday at 7 p.m. That screening is at the La Rita Theatre, 311 Denrock Ave., and it costs nothing. The WT Showcase in a Suitcase program sponsors it.

Dr. Mark Bartley, WT's Lilith Brainard Professor of Music and director of orchestral activities in the School of Music, says the music fits the story. "Thibaudeau's thoughtful score does a brilliant job of reflecting the setting of the story," he said. Bartley pointed out that heroine Christine Daeé sings in Charles Gounod's "Faust" in the film, and the audience will hear music drawn from that source. "Thibaudeau also incorporates pipe organ in dramatic fashion," he said.

A movie with no spoken dialogue gets its whole voice from the musicians in the room.
