On3 reported the ruling. Per the order, the NCAA cannot bar athletes from the 2026-27 season if they already used their four years of eligibility. The association also cannot enforce its rule of restitution or its "ghost transfer rule" against the athletes, any school they play for or any school they play against.

Two weeks ago, a Kentucky Court of Appeals ruling made Castellanos ineligible. The hearing was expected. He now joins Missouri's Mark Mitchell and Louisville's Seth Trimble as college athletes cleared to play.

For Texas Tech, it means a quarterback with real game experience is available again. Castellanos made his Red Raider debut Sept. 12 at Oregon State. In three games, he has thrown for two touchdowns and rushed for two more. After starting at UCF, Boston College and Florida State, he arrived in late August.

That is four programs on his résumé, and a judge's order is the reason the Texas Tech chapter keeps going.
