No. Childress County is not among the 18 counties named on Sept. 24, 2026.

  • A county that is not on the list is not an all-clear. The release says "including," and the Attorney General's office describes the investigation as reaching all data center developments in Texas. This page can only report the counties named on September 24, 2026.

Horizon campus

IREN

A campus where the first of four 50 MW buildings has been delivered. DCD reports a five-year, $9.7 billion cloud services contract with Microsoft signed in November 2025.

DCD calls it the Childress campus; no county is given, so the marker sits at the town of Childress.

DCD reported Aug. 17, 2026 that IREN delivered its first building to a customer. Three more are scheduled this year.
